Rising New Wave of Aesthetic Vaginal Surgery

Probably the fastest growing segment of cosmetic surgery is the ascendance of aesthetic vaginal surgery. These include labiaplasty, vaginoplasty (vaginal tighteining), hymenoplasty, and clitoral hood reduction. There is a growing group of plastic surgeons quickly getting to speed on how to perform labiaplasty surgery and some are agressive in trying to learn how to do vaginal surger that enables them to perform vaginoplasty surgery. On the other hand, OB/GYN specialist are much slower in acceptance of aesthetic vaginal surgery. The American Academ of Cosmetic Gynecologists is trying to change that. Any thoughts on Plastic surgeons and Gynecologists both performing these type of cases?

Appreciate the comment. The surgeries may seem new but are actually tried and true and have been performed by me for many years. We did not have the glamorous name of "Vaginal Rejuvenation" then nor did we have Doctor 90210 on the airwaves then. We could not even say "vagina" on air.

I was suffering from urinary incontinence after having 3 children and did some research and came across Laser Vaginal Institute of Los Angeles. I would recommend them to everyone and I am VERY happy with my results.

David Matlock, a wonderful friend of mine, does a great job with vaginal rejuvenation. His partner, Dr. Simopoulis, I believe does the incontinence work along with David. Really nice gentlemen. Dr. Matlock is considered the most influential person getting the public to learn about genital cosmetic surgery.

In my practice, I do the reconstructive pelvic and vaginal surgery and the aesthetics at the same time, with or without mesh. Most are done in my office with no IVs and while comfortably awake.
